This years scholarship recipient is Victoria Moore. Victoria is a wonderful example of what this tournament embodies and represents. She came to LaFargeville Central School as a military child who has lived all over the world. She has made numerous moves and states personally she knows what it’s like to be the new kid. Before that, she spent her early years of school homeschooled overseas. Teachers including one at La Fargeville Central School, influenced her to become a teacher herself to “become someone else’s reason”. She plans to attend SUNY Cortland in the fall with an academic major of Early childhood education.

During her time in school, not only did she excel in academics she also was a well rounded student participating in numerous extra curriculums. She was apart of many clubs like drama club and yearbook club. She played on the softball team and kept stats during the basketball games. She was apart of the sources of strength club was apart of student council and vice president! With her career goal being a teacher, she worked as teen mentor during her summer’s at 4-H along with working at the local library.
