Founders

These four founded this tournament. As the tournament has grown, there is now a committee that volunteer’s their time and each individual plays an important role in preparing this tournament.

Susan V. Rapant

Susan (Sue) is Ted’s daughter. She has been part of the committee for this tournament since the beginning. Sue and her father were very close and it brings her joy to honor her father and to give back to the community. Sue has been an elementary teacher at La Fargeville Central School for over 30 years. During her free time she gives back to her community by serving on the board of directors for River Hospital. Her husband Tim and her children Callie and Cameron are actively involved in organizing and being apart of the tournament.

Theodore James Vickery Jr.

Theodore (Ted) is Ted Sr.’s son. He has been part of the committee for this tournament since the beginning. Ted and his father were very close and taught him many things that have made him into the man he is today. Ted is an engineer in Albany, NY. During his free time, he gives back to his community and is heavliy involved with the United Methodist Church. His wife Sue and children Jamie and Andrew are actively involved in organizing the tournament. Ted’s wife Sue works in the food industry, for the tournament she is in charge of all the food preparation.

 

Elna C. Vickery

Elna (Ellie) is Ted’s widow. Ellie has been part of the committee for this tournament since the beginning. Ted and Ellie were married for 48 years. Ellie and Ted met in Buffalo, NY. Ellie was a dental hygienist for 10 years. When they moved to the Albany area, Ellie had both of her kids, Sue and Ted Jr. At that time, she became a stay at home mom and raised both of her kids. They spent their summers coming up to the 1000 Islands and spending time at the cottage. When her children got older, she worked in real Estate for 15 years until she retired at her cottage.

Timothy F. Rapant

Timothy (Tim) is Sue’s husband. He has been part of the committee for this tournament since the beginning. Tim and Ted Sr. had a very good relationship. Tim has been a deep part of this family. Ted Jr and Tim went to high school together and have been best friend’s since. Tim was a Physical Education teacher for La Fargeville Central school for 30 years until he retired in 2022.. Tim is also a U.S Customs officer. He has been an officer for over 20 years and is still actively working. Tim stays active in his community by coaching young athletes. He continues to give back by helping his wife with school events and supporting the athletes he once coached.
